Walter E. Shuey, 86, of Akron, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 28, 2001. Born on December 16, 1914 in Akron, he was a resident of this area all his life. Walter retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 35 years of service. He was also a longtime member of the Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Louise Shuey;son, Warren Lee Shuey; sister, Helen Kierst; and brother, Gene Shuey. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 1/2 years, Lois Shuey; daughter, Linda Shuey of Akron; son, Ranald Schuey of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Graham Schuey of Akron and Heather Schuey of Nova Scotia; brother-in-law, Harold (Anita) Richards of Akron; sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Dick) Blake of Colorado and Doris (Howard) Pettman of Virginia; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 31st at 11 a.m. at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. with calling hours from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Rev. Eloy Pacheco officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven of Rest, 175 E. Market St., Akron, 44308 or Camp Carl, c/o The Chapel, 135 Fir Hill, Akron, 44304.
