Walter F. Nehrenz "Bud"
Bud Nehrenz, 75, passed away November 27, 2013. He was born in Akron on November 18, 1938 to the late Ford Walter and Etta Mae Nehrenz. Bud graduated from Kenmore High School and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from the Springfield Police Department after serving as Police Chief. Bud was a member of the Orioles Nest 167, the Eagles 555, and the Hibernian Club. He was an avid fan of the Browns and the Indians. Bud will always be remembered as a loving and generous person.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy Nehrenz; and sister, Martha Mae Jarvis. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Tammy (Ron) Pierce, Kim (George) Galat, Pam (Tom) Mauk, and Traci (John) Page; his dear companion, Norma Poalson; sister, Joyce Mossman; Norma's children, Matthew (Beth) Poalson and Meredith Poalson; grandchildren, Brian, Danny, Jennifer, Michael, Bud, George, Cortni, Tyler, Sydnee, Cassidy, Billy, and Jonathen; eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 11th from 4-6 followed by a 6:00 p.m. memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. A procession will form on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home and inurnment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m..
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Springfield Police Department.
