Walter C. Fricke, "Walt," "Brother," 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 17, 2017, joining his beloved wife Betty in Heaven. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from The Goodyear Tire and Rubber as a Bricklayer in 1996. Walt graduated from Springfield High School in 1951. He loved golfing, bowling, dancing and spending time with his friends and family, including the Alaho Street and Autumn Meadows neighbors.
Walt was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty; parents Walter and Frances "Ganny" Fricke. He is survived by daughter Christie (Mark) André; son Scott (Rachel) Fricke; sister Gloriana "Tootsie" Perren; sister in-law Loretta; nephew Kim; nieces Renée, Laura, Lynne and Julie; grandchildren Megan and Craig; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to the Bower family, the staff at Mulberry Gardens, Arbors of Streetsboro, Crossroads Hospice and the Mogadore Moose for their care and concern. There will be a graveside service at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery on Friday, September 29, at 10:00 am and a Celebration of Life at the Mogadore Moose on Sunday, October 1, at 1:00 pm. Walt fought a long, hard battle with Parkinson's Disease. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Parkinson's Foundation.
