Walter M. Baird

Walter M. Baird, 77, passed away on March 16, 2011. Walter retired from B.F. Goodrich after 38 years of service. He enjoyed collecting model trains, erector sets, and coins. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and with his Spicer School friends and Goodrich buddies. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Kenny and Roberta ; and foster brother, Frank Kinder. Survivors include his beloved wife, Shirley Rachel, of 27 years; sons, Rick (Peg), Martin, and Jim (Alice); brother, Paul; stepdaughters, Vicki (Bruce) Bubp and Tracey Oliver; grandchildren, James Kenneth, II (Laura), Katie (Kyle) Bogan, Richard, Rob, Charlotte, Geoffrey, Addy, Parker, Andrew, Rick (Jen) Sigmon, Matthew and Mike Bubp, Glenn and Dillon Oliver; great-grandchildren, Rylee Faith Bogan and Emma Rachel Sigmon. Calling hours will be Sunday, 2-6 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
