Walter C. Massic, "Walt", age 56 of Akron, Ohio, died unexpectedly on May 23, 2021 at Akron City Hospital.
He was born on July 12, 1964 in Akron, the son of Rebecca (nee Edwards) (Edward) Massic Brand of Westerville, Ohio and the late Chester W. Massic.
Walt was a 1982 graduate of Field High School. He was a carpet installer for Medina Flooring for the past several years and for himself since high school.
He loved to ride his Harley and work in the garage fixing cars and cycles. Walt was a very kind and generous man, thinking of others before himself. Walt was a little rough around the edges but that would never get in the way of his "Heart of Gold". He loved to bug his kids and grandkids, he loved family time, anytime of the day or night.
In addition to his mother and step-father, other survivors include his twin daughters, Samantha June Massic and Sabrina Anne (Tyler) Whaley and his son, Shawn Walter Massic; his grandchildren, Greyson Whaley and Braylin Whaley.
Also surviving are his three sisters, Cheryl (Will) Brunner, Lisa (Steve) McDavid and Tamara "Tammy" (Dave) Proctor; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends that mourn his loss.
Family and friends may visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron on Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.
Private graveside services will take place on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Restland Cemetery, Brimfield, where Walt will be laid to rest next to his father.
