Walter P. Barthalow "Butch", born March 24, 1942, passed away suddenly on July 28, 2012. Butch retired from Babcock & Wilcox after 29 years of service. He also worked at Circuit City and Barberton Hospital.
Preceded in death by his parents, Walter Barthalow and Jennie Sungy; stepfather, Mike Sungy; ex-wife and the love of his life, Judith Barthalow Dolly; niece, Jennifer Ann Yager; sister and brother-in-law, Barb and Dick Kramer; brother-in-law, John W. Cunningham.
Survivors include loving sister and best friend, Annette Cunningham; sons, Paul and Tim Barthalow; good friend, Brenda Tierney; great friends, Marlene and Charles Armstrong and Alice Faye; and his beloved pet, Tinkerbell.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, 5-7 p.m., at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, and Thursday, 10-11 a.m., at First Church of God, 464 Northeast Ave., Tallmadge, with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
