Walter Polanski
Walter Polanski, 81, died Tuesday, May 3rd after a long illness. Mr. Polanski served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. He was employed by Ohio Bell Telephone as a Group 1 Installer and retired in 1982. He is survived by wife, Julia (nee Jackovic); daughters, Tina Hendrickson (Ken) of Suffield, Kathleen Carolus (Charles) of N. Carolina, Christine McElcar (Robert) of S. Carolina; grandchildren, Rachel Hendrickson, Kenny Hendrickson, Jennifer Glover, Jennifer Matota (Joe) and Rob McElcar (Donna); siblings, Ann Bohaychyk of Florida, Martha Hays of Green, Joe Polanski of Georgia; brother-in-law, John Jackovic of Akron. Special thanks to Lena Frattaioli for her wonderful care during Walter's difficult journey. God bless you Lena. Calling hours will be Friday from 5 - 9 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. where funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Markland officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael Orthodox Cemetery with military honors conducted by Mogadore VFW 8487. Memorial contributions may be made to the Akron Chapter of Alzheimers Association, 1815 W.
