Wanda G. Adkins, age 88, went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2021 in Springfield, Ohio, formerly of Norton, Ohio. Wanda was born on June 13, 1933 in Streeter, West Virginia to the late Ester and Ora Pack.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Velmer A. Adkins and 4 brothers: Gary, Larry, Ray, and Phil (Kenny).
She was a long established member of the Arlington Church of the Nazarene, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She loved to socialize and spend time with family and friends, especially her grandkids. Her hobbies included crocheting, she loved making afghans and blankets for everyone. We would love for you to bring a Grammi afghan or blanket with you to the service to share her unique work with everyone. She was employed by Dr. Forrest W. Crocker, MD and Akron Children's Hospital as a secretary. Wanda is survived by 1 brother, Stanley; and 2 sisters, Helen and Charlotte; her son, Roger Adkins (Carol) of Springfield, Ohio; daughter, Rita Rhodabarger (David) of Effingham, Illinois; granddaughter, Kimberly Adkins-Hubbard (Jason), great-grandsons, Andrew and Aden Hubbard of Springfield, Ohio; grandson, Jonathan Adkins (Trisha), great-grandsons, Drew Adkins, Braiden Barcus and Caiden Steltzer of Springfield, Ohio; granddaughter, Stefanie Rhodabarger-Hendrickson (Mark), great-grandsons, Nick, Charlie and great-granddaughter, Beatrice Hendrickson of Selma, Indiana; grandson, Benjamin Rhodabarger (Shannon), great-granddaughter, Emma and great-grandson, Tanner Rhodabarger; granddaughter, Elizabeth Rhodabarger-Monk (JT) of Effingham, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. Twila Warner- Largent was a beloved friend.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 11:00AM-1:00PM at Arlington Church of the Nazarene, 1057 Triplett Blvd. Akron, Ohio 44306. The service will begin at 1:00PM. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
