Waneta R. Bechter

Waneta R. Bechter, 85, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2009. Born February 28, 1924 in Cambridge, OH. She had lived in Akron for most of her life. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Throughout her life she has had various jobs, but her favorite by far was being a wonderful mom and grandma. Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Bechter; and sisters Dorothy and Hazel. She is survived by daughter, Georgette (Greg) Bond; sons Robert (Linda) Allen and Ray Allen, all of Akron; stepchildren Chuck (Betty) Bechter, of New Bremen, OH, John Bechter, of Wooster, Hazel (Louis) Kroah, of Uniontown, and Ruth Sisson, of Akron; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. "Grams" will be sadly missed by her granddaughters Alicia and Ashley, whom she has lived with over the past 7 years, but their many memories will always bring smiles to their faces. Calling hours will be Thursday, 5-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church.
