Warren O. Whitney

April 17, 1919 — November 3, 2017

Warren, born in Big Stone, South Dakota on April 17, 1919 to Bert and Lettie Juliette Graves Whitney on Friday November 3, 2017 he went to be with the Lord and his loving wife was at his side. Warren was a proud WWII Veteran serving alongside General George S. Patton from 1940 to 1945 and earning 5 major Battle Stars.

He leaves his child bride Mary S. AKA "Dona Maria" as well as granddaughter Renne Baker, nephews, nieces, cousins scattered across our nation. Along with numerous wonderful friends and neighbors.

In 1964 Warren married the love of his life Mary S. Ainscough and her son Tom, residing in North Hill, Mogadore and Cuyahoga Falls. Warren retired from Ohio Bell in 1982. He was a member of The Chapel, American Legion Posts 201 and 281, BPOE 1923, Ohio Bell Pioneers and he was a volunteer for the All AMerican Soap Box Derby. Day is done, gone the sun, From the lake, from the hills, from the sky; All is well, safely rest, God is nigh.

Having accepted Jesus as his Savior as a teenager he left singing his favorite hymn. "It is well with my soul" and asking this question is it well with your soul?

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at The Chapel, Akron OH on Tuesday November 4, 2017 at 1pm. In place of flowers, donations should be made to The Chapel's Camp Carl or the Haven of Rest Ministry in Akron, OH.
