Wayman Charles McKee
Charles McKee, 68, of Akron, passed away June 26, 2013. He is now in Heaven with his loving wife Rita. Charles was born in New Richmond, West Virginia on December 30, 1944 to the late Wayman and Gladys (Staley) McKee. He graduated from Ellet High School in 1963 and married Rita Ellis on June 18, 1967. He retired from Akron Equipment in 1992 after 21 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Rita; father-in-law, Don Ellis; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and June McKee; brother-in-law, Robert Ellis; nephew, Neal Coontz. He will be deeply missed by his mother-in-law, Joan Ellis; nieces and nephews, Darrin (Jen) Ellis, Sherri Ellis (Jeff Anstine), Pam (Ed) Sanek, Ramona (Joe) Caley, Anita (Mike) Weyrick, Debra (Dave) Fagan, Regina (Jim) Cumberledge, and Rodney Coontz; sister, Louise Coontz; sister-in-law, Shela Ellis; great-nieces and great-nephews, Christopher and Nicholas Ellis, Scott (Jen) Sanek and Amanda Sanek; many other relatives and friends.
Charles will always be remembered as a caring, kind person and was loved by all who knew him. Family and friends may call on Sunday, June 30 from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. with Star Lodge #187. Funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
