Wayne B. Angel, age 82, passed away peacefully at home Feb. 9,2022 surrounded by family.
He was born in Jellico, TN and lived most of his life in Akron Ohio. He was a 1957 graduate of Akron Garfield High School. He worked for the US Postal Service for 35 years retiring in 1992.
He had many hobbies and interests including watching Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns, stamp collecting, history buff, coin collecting, and he was an avid horse racing enthusiast. He attended many Ohio and Kentucky Derby's and has a large collection of memorabilia. He enjoyed cooking and made our favorite southern meals for Sunday family dinners with his daughters and grandchildren.
Wayne also enjoyed spending weekends with his daughters and grandchildren at Harrison Hills Campground. Family was very important to him. Many wonderful memories were made at The Angel family reunions, family Christmases, vacations and weekends spent with his parents and siblings.
Wayne was preceded in death by his "best buddy", his dog, Lou; his beloved grandson, Kyle Klein; his parents, Lewis C. and Mary Ruth Angel; his brothers, Lewis C. Angel Jr, Gene Angel; and his sister, Marylou Johnson.
He is survived by the love of his life, whom he was married to for 63 years, Judith (nee Peveler) Angel; three daughters, Debbie Angel Loyd (Jack), Tracy Morrison (Bob), and Lesleigh Klein; his grandchildren, Taylor (Maggie) and Tanner Baker, Ashleigh, Brittani and Kelsi Morrison, Katie McGaffick (Andy) and Konner Klein; and his great-granddaughter, Ella Baker.
His siblings also survive, James (Marie) Angel and Barbara (Vince) Brandtner, and many nieces, nephews and extended family; special friends and daughter by heart, Denise (Joel) Cocozzo.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 at 5:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron, where Pastor Steve Cisney will celebrate Wayne's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
