Wayne F. Westfall, 66, of Akron went to the big fishing tournament in the sky on May 19, 2022. He was born on November 14, 1955 in Barberton, Ohio to the late Franklin Westfall and Doris Mills. After 30 years working as an auto mechanic, Wayne retired and spent the last four years working for Auto Zone as a parts driver. He made many friends along the way.
West Virginia was a second home to Wayne, and he never missed a chance to visit family and friends there, especially his cousin/twin, Tony Westfall and his wife, Debbie. His passions in life were hunting, fishing, and bowling, and he was an enthusiastic teacher of all. Wayne was involved in many fishing clubs over the years. He was a founding member of the Portage Lakes Bass Masters. Along with his wife, Sue, he was a slot connoisseur and always made it a point to explore new casinos. He enjoyed the time he spent helping his buddy, Craig Addis, racing and pit-crewing. Wayne had a special connection with animals, and they always had a way of bringing out his soft side.
Above all, Wayne cherished spending time with his family, especially his six grandchildren.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years, Sue "Susie" Westfall; daughters, Emily Westfall (Mindy Calderone) and their children, William and Julius, and Debra (Thomas) Stroup and their children, Zachary, Andrew, Ethan and Audrey; sister-in-law, Cynthia (Duane) Knox and their children, Edward (Cathy) Langenfeld and their children, Francis (Laurie) Langenfeld, and their children, Joe (Stacey) Langenfeld and their family; and the son he never had, Billy Beeler, along with his daughters, Naomi, Emma and Savanna. He will also be missed by many close family friends, co-workers, and customers where he delivered.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Wayne's life will take place on Sunday June 12, 2022 at the Goodyear Yacht Club 3565 S Main St, Akron, OH 44319 from 2pm until 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Goodyear Yacht Club at the address listed above.
