Wendell Wolfe

Wendell "Wendy" Wolfe, 86, passed away on January 2, 2017. A lifelong resident of the Akron area, he was born November 26, 1930 to the late Willis and Naoma Wolfe. Wendy proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the US Army. He retired from East Ohio Gas after 32 years of service. Wendell enjoyed camping, hiking, playing cards, working in the yard, and spending time with his family.

Wendell was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years Marlene his "Georgia Peach;" daughter, Karen; brothers, Linden and Neal. He is survived by his children, Lori (Gary) Sprang, John Wolfe, Nancy (Brian) Jones, Mike Wolfe; brothers, Willis Wolfe, Marvin Wolfe, Roland Wolfe, Clarke Wolfe; 8 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson. He was loved by many and a friend to all. He will be deeply missed.

Family will welcome guests for a visitation on Friday January 6, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service will be held on Saturday January 7, 2017 at 11 am with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Sunset Hills Memorial Gardens, N. Canton.
