Wendy Ann Murdock Deckert passed away in her sleep on February 8, 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Atkinson Murdock and Martha Jenkins Murdock; and brother, Allen Murdock. Wendy is survived by her four loving sons, Mark (Sue), David, Ken (Brenda) and Mike (Shelli) of Akron, Ohio; grandsons, Andy, Steve and Nick; granddaughters, Brittany, Kristina, Jordan, Madison, Brianna, and Olivia; sister, Susan (Glenn) Philabaum of Jackson Twp.; and brother, Doug (Becky) Murdock of Sioux Falls, SD; and numerous other family members and friends. She is a 1956 graduate of Akron Garfield High School and completed her RN in 1959 from the Akron General School of Nursing. She worked for 40 years in several area hospitals and was very proud to be a nurse. She was a devoted grandmother, mother, daughter, sister and nurse during her life and will be fondly remembered by all. She loved her family and was very proud of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed painting, crafts, attending sporting events and her cat, "Frankie". Calling hours will be held Friday, February 11, from 4 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a service will be held Saturday, February 12, at 11 am. Graveside services to follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Canton.
