Wesley C. Recob, 80, of Akron, went to be with his beloved wife of 56 years, Eleanor, on August 1, 2020. He was born on January 9, 1940 in Akron, Ohio to Charles and Faye Recob. He graduated from South High School in 1957. He joined the Army National Guard in 1956, and served until 1965. Wes worked at Akron Porcelain and Plastics for 39 years.
Wes enjoyed attending Springfield football games and was an avid Buckeyes and West Virginia Mountaineers fan. He loved spending time outdoors, where he enjoyed fishing, camping, working around his yard, and savoring an occasional beer.
In his younger years, Wes was really into art. He enjoyed drawing and designing. After retirement, Wes loved watching TV and movies (especially westerns and black and white classics). Above all, Wes cherished spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Recob; and step-brother, Bob Simo.
Wes is survived by his children, Sharon (Randy) Besserman and David (Paula) Recob; grandchildren, Brian and Eric Besserman, and Elizabeth Recob; and great-grandchildren, Addy and Stella.
Visitation will take place on Thursday August 6, 2020 from 11am until 12pm at Newcomer 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, OH 44305. A funeral service will follow at 12pm. Interment will be privately held at Uniontown Greenlawn Cemetery.
