Willard A. "Will" Caetta, Sr., "Big Will" as he was known by most of his family and friends, loved life. He went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 23, 2012 and was born May 26, 1944 in Akron, OH.
His education growing up went far beyond Mickey Bright Elementary, Goodrich Jr. High and Garfield High. With blind parents, he learned the virtues of respect, responsibility and honesty as a caregiver at an early age. He excelled at baseball as a youth and at the high school level. As an adult, softball became his sport of choice and was a member of the Smith Electric and the Jenota Club teams among others. Will retired from the Twinsburg Stamping Plant (Chrysler) after 30 years and was a longtime member at Hillwood Chapel in Uniontown. More than anything, he loved his family, friends and dogs. To know him was to love him.
Will was preceded in death by his parents, Casper and Isabelle Caetta. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Carolyn Caetta; daughter, Glenna (James) Caetta-Stewart; sons, Willard (Chris Boynton) Caetta, Jr. and Daniel (Tamaria) Caetta; grandchildren, Nicole Wakehouse, Krista, Crystal, Logan, and Savannah Caetta; great granddaughter, Isabella Caetta; and many special extended family members and friends.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, December 28, 2012 at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305 where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 29, 2012.
