Willey (Woody) Woodroof, 78, of Akron, passed away July 7, 2013. He was born in Nashville, TN on June 5, 1935. Willey spent 45 years as a welder. He was an avid Oakland Raider's fan, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Willey was preceded in death by his father, Currey; mother, Dorothy (Lane); step-mother, Amy; brother, Duncan.

Willey is survived by his wife of 60 years, Louise; children, Gail (Mike) Tracy; Steve (Robin), Scot (Martha); grandchildren, Tammy, Lauren, Adrian, Todd, Philip; great-grandchildren, Zach, Chris, Courtney; sister, Dorothy Reeder; half-brothers, Donnie and Rick; half-sister, Doris.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday, July 10, from 5-7 p.m. and Thursday, July 11, from 1-2 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 2 p.m. with Don Wright officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
