William T. Armstrong
William T. Armstrong, 74, of Akron, went to be in Heaven on July 23, 2007. Bill retired from Reiter Dairy and was also employed as a house painter. He was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God Mt Assembly, where he was an assistant pastor and song leader. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Janie; second wife, Velda; parents, Rev. Ray and Evalina Armstrong; and son, William E. Armstrong. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 15 years, Vietta; daughters, Lois Damron, Sylvia Ross, and Edie (Dennis) Holzer; sisters, Helen Allen, Edith Miles, Elizabeth (Harold) Crosby, and Victoria (James) Griepp; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Matthew) Cleckner, Lisa Ross, Janie and Jennifer Holzer. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Pebble Creek and Hospice of VNS for all the care and concern given to Bill. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10-11 at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church of God, 321 Wooster Rd. N., Barberton, with Rev. Roby Hylton, Jr. officiating.
