William "Bill" Knapp, 60, of Brimfield Township went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Monday, May 11, 2015. He was born January 28, 1955 in Akron, Ohio. Bill's passion in his life was his devoted wife, Dianna, of 35 years, and his children Amanda, Tim, and Ryan; he was a wonderful husband, father and papa. Bill spent much of his free time fishing the waters of Mogadore Reservoir and Lake Hodgson, participating in annual softball and basketball leagues, spending free time with his family, and attending Riverwood Community Chapel. He faithfully served Portage County Engineers for 38 years, before retiring and serving Suffield Township for the last two.
Bill's pride and perfection was exhibited in everything he did whether it was mowing the lawn or making the roads of Portage County safe for its citizens. Bill's energy and zeal for life will continue through his children, grandchildren, and siblings. The void in all of our hearts will never be filled, but we rest knowing he did what made him happy serving others to the fullest.
Bill leaves a legacy behind to remember him including his loving wife, Dianna; children, Amanda (Mike) Hunsicker, Timothy (Sarah) Knapp and Ryan (Amanda) Knapp; grandchildren, Laney, Gavin, Kylie, and Katherine; mother, Edith Knapp; siblings, Donald, Jerry (Nancy), Clem (Rose), Tom (Vicki), Dolores (John) Fogt, Marj (Bob) Keith, and Mary (Karen) Knapp; mother and father-in-law, Dewey and Joan Satterfield; brother-in-law, Jay (Kristie) Satterfield; furry friends, Bailey, Toby and Ruby and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Riverwood Community Chapel, 1407 Fairchild Ave. Kent Ohio 44240 from 1pm to 4pm with a celebration of Bill's life to follow at 4pm with Pastors Cole Tawney and Jonny Norman officiating. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Bill's name to the Riverwood Community Chapel.
