William C. Blackwell
William C. Blackwell, 82, went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2007. He was born on May 21, 1925 in Roan Mountain, TN, to the late Bernie and Mae Blackwell. William was a born again Christian and attended the Lord's House of Prayer. He retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 45 years of service, was a member of UAW, and enjoyed woodworking and making musical instruments. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Claude Blackwell and his sister Pauline Caldwell. Survivors include his loving wife Willa of 60 years; daughters Jean Post, Shirley Slivka, Bernice (Jim) Orlando, Linda (Richard) Stokes, Kathy Wagner, Helen (Tim) Hunt, and Sanda Thibodeau; son Ed Blackwell; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and brothers Verl (Joyce) and Bob (Pat) Blackwell. Calling hours will be Friday, 5-9 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where a funeral service will be held Saturday at Noon, Pastor Harvey Greathouse officiating.
