William T. Blankenship, 83, passed away December 21, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 25, 1933 in Greensburg, Ohio but resided in Tallmadge the majority of his life.
Bill was a Teamster member of Akron Local 24 and retired as a long distance truck driver from Consolidated Freightways with 33 years of service. He was a man of many talents and interests but loved being with his family, friends, and neighbors the most. His favorite past time was merely being at home working in his yard.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara Jean Blankenship; son, Bill Blankenship (Debbie); daughters, Becky Ball and Brenda Edmiston; granddaughters, Jennifer Spratt, Deanna Morrow (Tommy); grandson, Billy Blankenship; great-grandchildren, Madison, Lucas and Lilly Morrow; sister, Mary Kate Petrey of Georgia. We would like to thank Altercare of Brimfield and Harbor Light Hospice for the compassion and support they showed our family during this difficult time.
Visitation will be Monday, December 26, 2016 from 12-1 followed by a 1:00 p.m. memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron.
