William Taswell Butcher passed away December 22, 2017. He was born in Barbour County, West Virginia, a son of the late T.S. and Grace (Johnson) Butcher of Kirt, West Virginia.
Bill retired from Yellow Freight as a mechanic. He loved his family, gardening, the mountains, and "tinkering" in the garage. Bill attended Home Missionary Baptist Church.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife Marilyn Wolfe and second wife Paulene Yost; sister Nita Jean Stalnaker (Arley) and brother James H. Butcher (Janet).
Surviving are a daughter Karen Sue Bors (Mike) of Hartville, a son William J. Butcher of Akron, a grandson Tommy Jurmanovich (Audra) of Arkansas, a granddaughter Rhea Butcher (Cameron) of California, great-granddaughters Lila and Adelle Jurmanovich, also a brother John C. (Harriet) Butcher of Akron, a sister Judith G. (Kenneth) Ferguson of Belington, West Virginia, nieces Pam, Tammy, Amanda and nephews Ray and Aaron.
Private interment will be at Cross Roads Cemetery at Tacy (Philippi), West Virginia. No calling hours will be held.
