William Mark Byrd, 75, of Akron, passed away on July 20, 2023 at Tallmadge Health and Rehab. A lifelong resident of Akron, he was born on April 17, 1948 to the late Frank Byrd Jr. and Mary Byrd.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Dennis Byrd and sister Terry Stimpfel.
On September 16, 1967, he married Karen {DeVenture} Byrd. She survives, along with their son, Shane Byrd; daughter, Jody Daugherty; grandchildren Ciara Daugherty (The Princess) and Zander Byrd.
Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Per Bill's wishes, cremation will take place, and well-deserved military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Thursday, August 10th at 12:45 p.m. THOSE WISHING TO ATTEND, please arrive at the information building at the front of the cemetery no later than 12:25, to be led back to the committal shelter.
