William F. Carroll, Jr., 83, of Uniontown, passed away February 4, 2008. Bill was born in Akron on October 27, 1924. He graduated from Springfield High School and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion. In his free time, Bill enjoyed traveling, gardening, and photography. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Carroll, Sr.; and sisters, Lois Barbara Carroll and Peg Hueston. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 61 years, Ruth; daughters, Evelyn (Jim) Fiorello, Catherine Carroll, and Becky McCutcheon; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Summa Palliative Care Unit for all the care given to Bill. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10-11 at Lakemore United Methodist Church, 1536 Flickinger Rd. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Summa Palliative Care Unit or Lakemore United Methodist Church.
