William O. Cave, Sr.
William O. Cave, Sr., 79, of Akron, passed away March 13, 2008 at the Hospice Care Center. He was born March 23, 1928 in Lancaster, Ohio. William served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from Babcock Wilcox with 30 years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed golf, bowling and above all, Jazz music. More than anything, William loved his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Merl J. Cave. William is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Earlene (Sayre) Cave; his mother who is 99 years old, Ruth G. Cave; daughters, Balinda (Jeff) Blanc and Kristy (Shannon) Baughman; sons, Kenneth M. Cave, William O. (Debra) Cave, Jr., John E. (Karen) Cave and Scott K. Cave; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 - 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Scott Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
