William E. Cook

William E. Cook, 94, passed away surrounded by family on January 11, 2019. He was born May 23, 1924 to late parents Norman and Marie Cook. Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing trips with his family to Canada and spending time with his grandchildren. He retired from Firestone after 37 years. Bill proudly served as an electrician's mate in the US Navy during WWII.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Nedra; 2 brothers and 1 sister. He is survived by his children, Gary (Sue) Cook and Nancy Archer; sister, Mary Ellen; grandchildren, Debbie (Steve), Steve, Shelly (Bobby), Pat (Jen), Holli (Justin); 11 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandsons; and special cousins, Wayne (Annette) Flight.

Visitation will be held from 7-9pm on Thursday, January 17 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Funeral service Friday, January 18 at 11am with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens to follow.
