William Richard Copen

William Richard Copen Sr., born April 19, 1927 in Charleston, WV went home to be with the Lord peascefully at home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ersel Marie Copen (April 5, 2001). He retired from Roadway Express April 30, 1989 after 30 1/2 years of service. He loved the Lord and he loved his children! He was a member of The Community Gospel Tabernacle.

William is survived by children, Jack Warden, William Richard (Pam) Copen Jr., Darlene Coup, Gary (Jennifer) Copen and Larry Copen; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren. He was a kind and gentle man and will be greatly missed! We love you Paw Paw! (Uncle Fudd)

Family will receive friends on Friday April 21, 2017 from 6-8pm and funeral service will be held on Saturday April 22, 2017 at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305. Visitation will be held at 10am until the time of service. Pastor Ron Chaffman officiating. Interment Hillside Memorial Park.
