William H. Crist

William "Bill" H. Crist died September 15, 2019 at the age of 30...celsius. Bill was born in Akron, Ohio on November 22, 1931 and graduated from Central High School in June of 1949. He worked for the Crawford Letter Company where he met the love of his life, Frances G. Garrett. They married in 1954. Bill retired from the University of Akron after 25 years of service. He then went on to work another 19 years with Enterprise doing what he loved most, driving cars.

Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife Fran in 1999, and their treasured son, Glenn in 2018. He is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Crist of Akron, Ohio, Karen (née Kraft) Crist of Macedonia, Ohio; his grandchildren, Erica Crist and Mike Gallagher of Fairview Park, Ohio, Terry and Aislinn Crist of Morrisville, North Carolina, Joshua and Lindsey Crist of Ellicott City, Maryland, and Kevin Dobbins and Amy Boskovich of Brecksville, Ohio; and his great-grandchildren, Michael, Sylvia, and Violet Gallagher; sister in-law, Elizabeth (Alvin) Simpson of Riverview, Florida; also other family and friends.

Calling hours Wednesday, October 2 at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A service will be held there on Thursday, October 3 at 11 a.m. Instead of flowers, please make a contribution to one of Bill's favorite charities: Haven of Rest, American Cancer Society or a favorite charity of your own.
