William E. McLain, Jr.
William E. McLain, Jr., 80, of Akron, passed away October 29, 2009. He was born July 24, 1929 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late William E. and Florene McLain, Sr. Bill served in the U.S. Army and retired from Goodyear. In his free time, he enjoyed golf, bowling, pool, and cards. He will be deeply missed by his wife, June; daughters, Kimberly (Ken) Conley, Shawn (Lenny) Herren, Kerry (Bruce) Presley, and Megan (John) Price; stepchildren, June Marie (Jack) Thorne, Michael Schellenberger, and Dennis (Jill) Schellenberger; sisters, Patricia Sells, Virginia Roberts, and Sue Clausen; brothers, Robert (Mary) and Thomas McLain; nineteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday from 11-12 followed by a 12 p.m. memorial service at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bill's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
