William E. Yerian
William E. Yerian, 76, went home to be with the Lord on November 24, 2009 at his home following a 3 1/2 year battle with cancer. He was born in Canton, Ohio and lived in the Canton and Akron area all of his life. He earned a Purple Heart Medal while serving in the Army during the Korean War Conflict. After 25 years as a refrigeration technician and service manager at Schlegel Refrigeration, he purchased the company and operated as TruTemp Sales and Service until his retirement in 1998. He was preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Arline Yerian; brother, Donald Yerian; and sister, Betty Lou Compon. Bill will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 54 years, Zella; brothers, Robert and Thomas Yerian; and sister, Jean Thompson. He leaves children, Patrick (Cathy) Yerian of Spring, TX, Pamela (Dennis) Loughry, and Mark (Tina) Yerian of Tallmadge, Cynthia (Phillip) Lile of Green and Sherrie (Billy) Rayle of Seagrove, NC; grandchildren, Nathan, Joshua, and Zachary Yerian, Todd and Chad (Lisa) Loughry, Paul and Rachel Yerian, Andrew, Daniel, Justin, Jordan, and Christine Lile, Ryan Rayle and Stephanie (Erik) Grafford; and three great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd.and from 11 am-12 pm at Akron Baptist Temple, Manchester Rd., Akron where a funeral ceremony will begin at 12:00 pm with Rev. Ernie Kemppel officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to Akron Baptist Temple Food Pantry, Hospice of Summa, or the charity of one's choice.
