He was born on May 10, 1942 in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of the late Con Paul and Dorothy (nee Elliott) Egan.
He was a graduate of El Dorado High School in 1960 and went on and earned his bachelor of science degree from Wichita State University graduating in 1968. He worked and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, after 38 years of service in 2006, as chief engineer along with many other jobs within the company. In his younger years he was active in Tallmadge Little League and umpired for the boys baseball teams at the "Hole" in Tallmadge. He loved cars and tinkering with them, buying his first one at the age of 10, which enabled him to form a career for the rest of his life. He loved the outdoors and working in the yard. Above all he enjoyed and loved his family.
Survivors include his loving wife, the former Ann Frazier, whom he married on November 2, 1963; his two daughters, Andrea (Robert) Booth of Midlothian, Virginia and Ashley Adomaites and her companion, Jason Bluy of Fairview Park, Ohio; and four grandchildren, Austin and Bailey Booth and Molly and Max Adomaites.
