William Byrd Farmer
William Byrd Farmer, 91, went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2008. He was born in Bland, Virginia to the late Trig and I. Myrtle Farmer. Bill lived in the Ellet area most of his life and attended Ellet Grace Brethren Church. He served in the U.S. Army and retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber after 32 years. Along with his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his first wife, Mamie; second wife, Mary; brothers, Harry and Arby; sister, Mae; and daughter-in-law, Connie. He is survived by his sons, Michael and Rick (Bonnie); grandchildren, David, Daniel, Douglas, Brett, and Sean; and great-grandchildren. The family greatly appreciates the loving care given by Heather Terry and her family. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. followed by a 1:30 p.m. funeral service, Pastor Jonathan Carey officiating. Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
