William A. Fox, age 91 of Akron, Ohio, died on May 29, 2016 at his home.
He was born on February 24, 1925 in Akron, Ohio, the son of the late William F. and Bertha Johnson Fox.
Mr. Fox served honorably in the US Navy during the Japanese invasion. When William was discharged from the Navy he met and married, on Dec. 2, 1945, his late wife, the former Virginia Mick, all within one month.
He retired after 32 years of service from Firestone as a maintenance worker. Some of his hobbies were woodworking, fishing, and hunting. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Other than his wife and parents, William was preceded in death by two daughters, Cherlyn Neff, and Pamela Miller; one grandson, Robert "Bobby" Fox; eight brothers and three sisters.
Those that survive him are his two sons, William E. (Marcheta) Fox, and Robert A. (Anita) Fox; his grandchildren, Anita Beers, Michell Jenkins, Tiffany Asuncion, and Billy, Gary, and Eric Hall; 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron on Saturday at 10 AM, June 4, 2016 where his nephew, Rev. Jack Fox will celebrate William's life.
Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 5-7 PM. William will be laid to rest with his wife in Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
