William G. Martin II. Bill (58) went to be in the arms of the Lord February 15, 2008 after a courageous fight with mantel cell lymphoma. He worked for Bath Police Department for 22 years as an officer, dispatcher, and computer specialist. He also worked for Sundance Systems training many surrounding area police departments on new computer software. He was preceded in death by mother and father, William G. (I) and Helen Martin; step-daughter, Sarah Shaw. Bill is survived by wife, Joan; daughters, Billie Jo Martin (Ronnie Cole) ofPiggott, Ar.; Dr. Heather (Ed) Alcorn of Akron; granddaughters, Tiffany and Kelle Wierzbicki of Piggott, Ar., Anna, Kaitlyn, Abigail and Megan Alcorn of Akron; in-laws, Dr. Richard & Vivian Hart of Sarasota, FL; pet schnauzer, Rigby. Family and friends may call Friday, Feb. 29 from 1 - 3 and 6 - 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron. Burial will be at Moores Chapel Cemetery, 1631 Hametown Rd., Bath OH on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Bath United Church of Christ, 3980 W. Bath Rd., Bath OH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Bath Police & Fire, 3864 W. Bath Rd., Bath OH 44333.
