Bill was born December 16, 1938 and with his children by his side he left us May 26, 2013. He was a resident of Mogadore for 43 years before moving to Tallmadge in 2003. He retired from the Local Sheet Metal Workers Union #33 in 1996 where he demonstrated his strong work ethic.
He enjoyed sports; especially baseball and basketball. Whether coaching or on the sidelines he could be seen cheering his family on. Tinkering with wood was a favorite pastime and nothing was ever broken around the house as long as he had duct tape.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Vivian; sisters, Phyllis Kuebler and Judy Feast; brother, Donald. Bill is survived by his wife, Betty; He leaves to continue his legacy, children, William (Pamela), Doris (Al) Volk, Bonnie (Steve) Holl; Richard (Jenny); grandchildren, Rebecca, Melissa, Todd, Joshua, Chris, Cyle, Bryanna, Landon, Emma, Tillman; step-daughter, Teresa; step-grandchildren, Angel and Tyler; and many great-grandchildren.
He was a gentle giant with an ornery twinkle and infectious laugh. His devotion to his family was his greatest legacy.
Family and friends may call on Friday, May 31, from 4-7 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Emlous Lattea officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
