William D. Grigg

William D. Grigg, 85, passed away January 13, 2022 after a brief illness. Born in Tallmadge, Ohio to Marshall and Evelyn (Sheppard) Grigg, he was a lifelong area resident. He proudly served in the U. S. Air Force and belonged to the URW. Bill enjoyed gambling at MGM, fishing, ice cream and spending time with his cat, Bootsie.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Jane; brother, James Grigg; granddaughter, Donna Jean. He will be sadly missed by his children, Billie Jean "Bird" (David) Swigeart, LaDonna McCarty (Fred); grandchildren, Jordan, Michael, Jonathan, Shani; great grandchildren, Alex, Liam, Abel; siblings, Carol Batton, Jean (Joe) Galambos, Danny Grigg; nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Newcomer, Akron Chapel, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Those who wish may make memorial donations in Bill's name to the Humane Society of Summit County.
