William J. Ingham
William "Willie" J. Ingham, 80, went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Pottstown, PA, and retired from General Tire & Rubber. Willie was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was active in Patterson Park Senior Singers, enjoyed playing the harmonica, and enjoyed working in his yard. Willie was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ruth; son, Richard Ingham; step-sons, George Herbert, and William Herbert; grandchildren, Sandra Marshall, and Candi Lanterman; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers; and many other family members. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 3, from 5 to 8 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd., Akron, where a funeral service will be held Thursday, February 4, at 11:00 am with Pastor Benjamin Black, III, officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Pottstown, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
