William J. Ralston
William J. Ralston, 73, of Munroe Falls, went to be with the Lord on August 20, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Bill was born on October 18, 1935 in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was employed by General Motors' Terex Division for 21 years, having retired in 1986. He was a member of the First Apostolic Church in Tallmadge. Bill served in the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Marine Reserves, and was a volunteer at Akron City Hospital for 9 years. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Esther; and stepdaughter, Michele Aguilar. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Doris (Oaks); daughter, Sharon (Scott) Slaven; granddaughter, Kayli; and sisters-in-law, Stella Lenihan of Barberton and Grace (John) Parrett of Columbus. He also leaves behind a special family, Dr. Michael and Jenny, Emily, Joseph, and Kathryn Maggio. He will be greatly missed by his little dog, Susie. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staffs at Akron City Hospital, Summa Western Reserve Hospital, and Traditions at Bath Road. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 24, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25, at First Apostolic Church of Tallmadge, 199 South Avenue, with the Reverend Kenneth Bulgrin officiating. Interment at Hillside Memorial Park.
