William E. Luplow, "Bill", age 79 of Akron, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on January 28, 2022.
He was born on January 2, 1943 in Akron, the son of the late William C. and Helen (nee Poston) Luplow.
Bill was an honorably discharged US Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.
Bill was retired from Manchester Tool Company after 45 years of service; he was employed by the Springfield Local Schools.
Bill was extremely involved in the community serving for 33 years on the Lakemore Fire Department; a volunteer auxiliary officer with the Springfield and Lakemore Police departments. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #496 Honor Guard; the Masonic New Franklin Lodge #803; Mogadore Moose Lodge #1082; American Motorcyclist Association; Lifetime member of the NRA; along with many other organizations.
He was a recipient of the Friends of Education Award by the Springfield Local School Teachers.
Bill was an active member and trustee of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Norton, Ohio.
Bill's saying was, "I just want to make things happen". He lived life to the fullest. Bill especially enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, his wife, Marian, and family, going on vacations, watching his grandchildren's sports, reading, playing piano, riding his motorcycle amongst many other activities. He was always willing to help anyone with anything, he never met a stranger.
Bill lived life to the fullest and to know Bill was to love him.
Survivors include his wife, the former Marian Bauer whom he married on August 7, 1982; his children, Bill (Kelly) Luplow, Tammy DeNault, Kimberly (Rob) Boarman and Kari (Drew) Kearns; his grandchildren, Meghan (Dan) Marshall, Molly (Josh) Rowland, Payton Givens, Josh (fiancee, Kyleigh Hayes) Boarman, Joe Boarman, Beau Luplow, Samantha Luplow, Logan Stanberry, Collier Stanberry, Cara Stanberry, Tony Mancuso, Mario Mancuso; his great-grandchildren, Bryson, Brynlee, Beau and McKenna; and his sisters-in-law, Margaret Hevener and Linda (Robert) Lance.
Other than his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife's parents, Louis and Ann (nee Schilling) Bauer; his sister, Barbara Massie and his brothers-in-law, Roy Massie and Jim Hevener.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5451 South Cleveland-Massillon Road, Norton, Ohio 44203, where Pastor Curtis Stephens will celebrate William's life.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 5:00- 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
