"Well done my good and faithful servant": William "Bill" Michael Maloney, age 64, of Akron, Ohio, was called to heaven too soon on February 17, 2017. Bill was born on November 25, 1952 to William F. Maloney and the late Florence Halman Maloney.
Bill was a devoted husband and father who will be missed beyond measure. He was always willing to lend a hand and didn't miss the opportunity to lighten the mood with a joke. He enjoyed hiking, especially his Grand Canyon treks with his Dad and family. A self-proclaimed "homebody," he loved cooking, helping take care of Katie, feeding wildlife in his backyard, and tinkering around the house-the simple pleasures of life.
Bill, your wings may have been ready, but our hearts weren't prepared.
Bill was a 1970 graduate of Garfield High School and a graduate of the University of Akron. He was a veteran of the US Navy and served during Vietnam. He currently worked at ISCAR Metals and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Other than his father, Bill is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susan; his daughter, Katie; his beloved aunt, Marilyn Elliott; cousin, David Elliott; his siblings, Patrick (Linda) and John (Cindy) Maloney, and Kathleen (Bret) Moore; sister-in-law, Lynda (Tom) Angerstien; nieces and nephews, Sarah, Olivia, Keefe, Elizabeth, Johnny, Arian, Genevieve, Tom, and Steve.
"There's nothing nicer than being best friends with the one you love".
