William J. "Bill" Messner, age 82 of Barberton passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021. He was born in Akron on January 7, 1939 to the late William Messner Sr. and Dorotha {Smith} Messner.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Donald Messner, sister Beverly Martyn, and his cat, Blackie.
Bill's memory will always be cherished by his wife of 63 years, Sandy; children Timothy, Dennis (Carol) and Michael Messner, Kimberly (Ronny Puett) Wright; grandchildren Christopher (Megan) Messner, Ashley (Kevin) McQuillen, Sarah (Kyle) Davis, Emily (Branden Ford) Wright, Katie (Patrick Gable) Wright; great-grandchildren Lucas, Layla, Lilly, Maxwell, Liam, Zachary and Madison; sister Dorothy Beans; beloved cat, Cookie.
He retired from B&W Security (O.S.S.) after 17 years of service. Bill was an avid train enthusiast and loved all of his cats through the years. He enjoyed fishing and watching sports and his favorite show, The Andy Griffith Show. Bill was a private and honest man, with high moral standards, and read his Bible daily. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he loved his family dearly.
