William "Billy" Moore, 78, made his transition to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
Billy was born on October 21, 1943 in Youngstown, Ohio, to Lela (Smith) Moore and Fred
Moore Sr.. Billy served in the U.S Navy and had several occupations, including being a barber, a
cosmetologist and finally a bus driver for the WRTA in Youngstown. In his youth, he enjoyed
swimming, basketball and later joined the men's choir at his church in Youngstown. He also
enjoyed playing dominos or cards with family and friends. Billy was a man of faith, who
fellowshipped at United Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Diane Poole and brother Fred "Sunny" Moore.
Billy is survived by his loving family, son JeVance (Alexis) Moore, daughter Alisa Moore
(Akron); grandchildren Emery Willis (Akron), Katelyn Moore (Atlanta); great-grandchildren
Lauryn and Camryn; along with many family and friends.
Billy's favorite scripture is Joshua 1:9, "Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be
dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go". The family will receive friends
on Wednesday, April 13, with calling hours at 11 am and the funeral at 12 pm, officiated by
Bishop Kenneth Paramore, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N Canton Rd, Akron, OH 44305.
