William Andrew "Bill" Parks, Sr.
William passed away peacefully in his sleep early on the morning of January 11, 2024. He was born in Akron, OH on December 21, 1932. William was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was retired from BF Goodrich. William loved spending time with his family and enjoyed wood-working, travel and tinkering around his garage. He was also a devoted member of the Christian congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
William was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Gladys (nee McMurray) Parks; parents, William and Florence; sisters, Helena Reynolds and Louise Shade; and son-in-law, Jeffrey "Jeff" Thissen.
William is survived by his sisters, Janet Richards and Clarice (John) Nelson; brother, Paul (Sandy) Parks; daughters, Debra Thissen and Carol Parks; son, William, Jr. (Claire) Parks of Alabama; grandchildren, Joshua, Michael, Ian, Sarah, Rebekah, Caitlin, Katie and Samantha; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will hold a private remembrance.
