William Paul Tallent

William Paul Tallent, 69, of Akron, passed away February 22, 2009. Paul was born April 21, 1939 in Madisonville, Tennessee to the late Jason and Anna Tallent. Paul will always be remembered for his many interests and talents. He enjoyed collecting and building firearms and placed in various target and speed shooting competitions. He loved cars and motorcycles and his mechanical abilities earned him the nickname "The Golden Hand". Paul had a lifelong interest in philosophy and etymology and had a vast knowledge of famous quotations. He also enjoyed photography and gardening. Paul had an innate capacity for telling jokes. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne. He will be deeply missed by his children, Brenda (Rick) Longacre of Colorado, Jeff (Dawn) Tallent of Cuyahoga Falls, and Paula Ann Tallent of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Leanne, Daren, and Emily; and special friends, Mark and Inta Huffman, Tina Wortman,and Quintin and Bill Geary. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mobile Meals 1063 S. Broadway, Akron, OH 44311.
