William R. Wade, 71, of Akron, passed away Thursday, April 25 after a long illness. Born December 27, 1930 in Akron, Ohio, he was a retired welder for Ohio Mechanics,and proudly served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. William was Past Commander of AMVETS Post # 67, a life member of the VFW post # 7200 and AMVETS # 0176. William is survived by his wife of 21 years, Dorothy Martin-Wade; step-children, Mary Martin, Diane (Daniel) Marino, Christine (William) Englehart, and Stephen (Darlene) Martin; 7 grandchildren; brother, Wilbur Wade. Family and friends will be received from 5 - 7 p.m. Sunday at NEWCOMER-FARLEY FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where prayer services will be held Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Annunciation Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Park. VFW post # 8487 will conduct Military services at the Cemetery. Family suggests memorials may be sent to Noah's Children (Pediatric Hospice), 6954 Forest Hill Avenue, Richmond, VA. 23225.
