William L. Ranefeldt
William L. Ranefeldt, 64, finished the race strong and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Bill was born in Akron on December 30, 1943, and lived most of his life there. Bill was the only son of Jarl and Helen Ranefeldt. Bill graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1962 and joined the Armed Forces. He was a retired member of the Carpenter's Union Local 639 and was affectionately known to his friends as "Willy Fix-it" because he really could fix just about anything. Bill was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Joyce; daughter Carri (Gary); stepsons, Mike Northcutt (Tari), Frank Northcutt (Christina) and Joey; stepdaughters Mariah, Angie, Erika, and Cindy; 14 grandchildren; sister Sandy Ranefeldt; brother Guy Steerman, of WV; best friend and brother for 44 years Larry Brewer and his family. Bill was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple. Cremation has taken place. An inurnment service at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery will take place at a later date. We extend a special thanks to the staff at Hospice Care Center for the loving care they provided to Bill and our families as he prepared to go "Home".
