William S. Freeman
William S. Freeman, 86, of Akron, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2008 after a brief illness. Bill was born September 7, 1921 in Clearfield, PA to the late David and Henrietta Freeman. After serving in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945, he married Wilhelmina Young in 1948 and they moved to Ohio in 1957. Bill worked in the dry cleaning business and was a drapery specialist for Coit Cleaners. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Wilhelmina; children, Gary and Merge (Basford) Freeman, David and Julie (Jones) Freeman, and Dale and Lydia (Stevens) Freeman of Flemington, WV; grandchildren, Brandell Evans, Nina Freeman, Wilhelmina (Freeman) Speicher, Karen Freeman, Gari Ann Freeman, David Freeman, and Amanda Phelps; great-grandchildren, Carla Carpenter, Brandon Carpenter, Sean Carpenter, Kaia Speicher, Dakota Speicher, Hayden Freeman, and Blaine Freeman; brother, Raymond Freeman and sister, Margaret France. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Joseph, Allen, Hank, John, and Richard Freeman and Mary Boyce. Family and friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd., where funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m.
