William Dale Stewart
William Dale Stewart, 76, of Akron, passed away September 13, 2006 at his residence. He was born June 27, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to the late William A. & Dorothy (Hummel) Stewart. William served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 37 years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting and loved to go camping with his family all over the country. The family will miss his funny jokes and his humorous way of living life. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Maria (Purnesti) Stewart and his 5 children, Joe (Annette), Larry (Debbie), Richard, Tom (Annette), and Marisa; grandchildren, Robert, Joe, Rochelle, Michael, Adam, Samantha, Jay, Tonya and Jessica; 5 great-grandchildren; long-time family friend, David Howd. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday at St. Matthew Church with Fr. Michael Williamson presiding. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the mass begins.
