William (Craig) Underwood
Craig Underwood, 49, of Akron, passed away March 20, 2006. Craig was born March 15, 1957 in Akron. He was preceded in death by his father, James Underwood and grandmother, Emma Wander. He graduated from Ellet High School in 1975 and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, stationed in england. Craig worked for B&G Contractors Supply for almost twenty years. He currently was employed at Blue Linx in Tallmadge. Ohio. Craig was a practical jokester and would entertain his friends and family with his pranks. He enjoyed watching sports, especially when his son was playing. Craig had coached baseball and also umpired at one time. He leaves behind his wife, Julie Underwood (Hesse); son, Alex Underwood; mother, Freda Underwood; father-in-law, Edward Kornas; brother, David Underwood (Mitzi); sister, Lisa Nahas (Bernie); brother, James Underwood (Pam); brother-in-law, Paul Hesse; sisters-in-law, Marie Eich (Gary), Suzanne Hiller, Bonnie Shadrach (Ron), and Joanie Nagy (Darrell); many nieces, nephews, and family friends; and his canine companion, Frankie. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at NEWCOMER FUNERAL HOME, 131 N. Canton Rd. Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Prayers at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
